"We met at the public library. We went over his Bible class. I consistently reinforced that he should write in complete sentences and use proper punctuation. For the last ten minutes, we reviewed his social studies work."
"* The student had done a great job of defining and using the words in sentences that I had left her last week. * We finished looking at the phonetic blends. * We talked about peripheral vision, and how to use it in reading. * I provided her with a reading slide to help her "see" up to half a line at a time. * She will use it to help her reading flow smoother. * I also gave her another 5 words to define and use in a sentence."
"We reviewed one of the student's homework assignments. The object was to compare and contrast scientific techniques used one century ago with techniques that are used today. We worked on creating a claim for an argument that included supporting facts and details with reasoning behind it. He struggled with recalling the pieces of evidence that he needed for his claim as he didn't have the reading material right in front of him. I provided him with a little outline of what we have accomplished so far along with specific examples of facts and evidence that he needed to find in his text to support the claim. I also provided him with a few questions to answer in hopes that they will provide him with reasoning for his claim. After we went over his homework, he read a brief passage on the life of Abraham Lincoln with brief questions that followed to help him comprehend the work and organize it into a summary."
