Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I finished reviewing his unit on circles. I invented several practice problems to test his skills and helped him simplify all the rules into a one-page study sheet."
"We covered secant and tangential lengths off of circles and also went over using various formulas to find lengths of given sides."
"First student: reviewed properties of the triangle. Second student: practiced adding and subtracting with fractions."
"We spent the first half of the session going over basic probability. I went over the basic formula and defined both variables in detail so the student could easily identify them when needed. We went over several examples to make sure he understood the material enough to maneuver through problems on his own. We spent the other half preparing for the assessment exam and began with basic trig. We reviewed the basic trig functions and how they relate to the right triangle. After our review, we spent the rest of the session working through examples."
"We learned today how to find the value of the angles that are formed when two secants are intercepted inside or outside of the circle. We worked on calculating the measure of the angles. Also, we calculated inscribed and central angles. We distinguished between inscribed and central angles and angles formed by the secant and transversals."
"The student's class has moved on to basic stats, so tonight I worked with him on choosing sampling methods, identifying bias, and determining between populations/ parameters and samples/ statistics. He picked up on this new material much more quickly than he expected."
