Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Student was unable to complete the practice sections assigned as homework, as her family is in the midst of moving. I had her take a timed CR section, and was happy to see that she easily finished the section, getting all but one of the passage questions correct. We also went over the algebra concept section of the book, which she had completed. Next week, we will be reviewing the geometry section and the next vocabularly unit. I also assigned sections 2, 3, and 7 of the third practice test."
"We reviewed the spelling words from the previous day, focusing primarily on the words beginning with the prefix "un." Then the student had some math worksheets to complete. She also worked on her cursive writing."
"The student and I finished up covering stoichiometry and went on to talk about predicting and classifying reactions. This included talking about the activity series and solubility rules, and is one of the most tested topics on his upcoming final."
"The student and I worked on taking notes and working through problems for her Chemistry class. We focused on calculating the pH of buffered solutions and calculating the pH when a strong acid or base is added to a buffered solution."
"We covered material regarding Newton's laws and friction. This involved a free response homework that we went through, as well as some additional problems her teacher had given her."
"Today we started with "cultural readings" and read further in the article about "legal highs," finding interesting and new sentence structures, and turns of phrase. Then we worked ahead in the book, picking up where we had left off at #13 on page 46 and continued through page 49. We ran out of time for work in the other book. The next session is on Wednesday at 6 pm."
