Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered general chemistry topics for the student's upcoming exam. Topics covered included cubic crystal systems; colligative properties; and concepts of vapor pressure, solvation and osmosis. The student seemed to have a good grasp and was comfortable calculating the material that will be on the first exam. We also covered a bit of genetics centered on incomplete and co-dominant inheritance."
"We covered chemistry, specifically ionic vs covalent bonds, cations, anions, nomenclature, and Lewis dot structures. I encouraged the student to memorize the ionic compound naming rules and do more practice with Lewis dot structures. Practice is key for those."
"The student's next unit is viruses and their reproduction. We did a brief overview of phages and the lytic and lysogenic cycles. We went over the different types of viral genomes and the types of viruses that fit under each category. We also discussed bacteria and how the transfer plasmids via conjugation and the fertility plasmid."
