Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I covered the material that he practiced over the weekend for his final exam. He seemed to understand the material relatively well, but I gave him additional practice problems as well."
"The student and I studied review problems from Chapters 7, 8 and 9 for his Algebra final next week. Our next meeting is scheduled for Friday at 5 PM."
"Today, we began the student's review for her final. We started simplifying expressions, finding slopes of lines, and solving for variables."
"For the student's last session we reviewed some of his past exams that were posted on his teacher's website. He forgot some of the names of the various properties of equality and real numbers but he knew what they were. I made sure he was able to solve linear equations. Finally we reviewed some topics involving inequalities which he was very familiar with since it was his most recently studied subject."
"The student and I went over some additional concepts in her packet, including finding and identifying angle and side measures, determining if triangles are similar, and finding angle and side measures of similar triangles. I encouraged her to continue to finish her packet before her exam. I also encouraged her to take her time when answering each question and to practice memorizing the formulas."
"The student and I worked through his new textbook that he'll be using for his upcoming algebra course. The topics we covered included rational expressions, radical expressions, polynomial expressions, and introduction of functions. Most of the things we covered today were topics we had covered previously, and while it did take a little time knocking some rust off, he was able to work through these lessons more quickly because of having had to work through these types of problems previously. We plan on meeting some time near the end of December to continue going through lessons in his textbook according a general syllabus he had found for the corresponding math course from this past fall."
