Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed for both her history quiz and nutrition quiz. We did an overview of both. I asked her PQ questions for nutrition and suggested she focus on reviewing the vitamins. Also, we did another review of the civil war information, and I advised her to review it again prior to the quiz as part of her final review."
"The student and I reviewed the material for her upcoming exam. The topics included reflexive verbs, reflexive pronouns, reciprocal verbs, su/sus, impersonal se, and passive se. She needed help with the reflexive sentences and reciprocal verbs, so we went over that in detail. Her attitude was a positive and participated throughout the material and session."
"The student is now receiving an 87% in his Spanish class after his assessment. He was receiving a C+ before I started working with him. We reviewed his assessment and went over errors. We mostly reviewed conjugations of reflexive verbs and practiced more using his family and friends as subjects of these conjugations. We then refreshed vocabulary in dates, days, months, colors and sizes. He was great!"
"We completed pages 49 to 52 of the Realidades 1 Workbook. For homework, the student is to complete questions 7 and 8 of page 52 before next session and complete the worksheets that her teacher assigned so we can go over them next time we meet."
"The student needed a grammar focus on the affirmative commands. He had exercises to complete and needed to practice the conjugation of the regular and irregular commands. He was strong in conjugating them but sometimes confused their meanings, which made difficult for him to create sentences of his own. At the end of the lesson, we made a check, and he knew his verbs much better."
"We did a Spanish level assessment to see where the student needs improvement and to determine a good starting point for the sessions. She needs to expand her vocabulary and had trouble with singular/ plural usage. She was very open to what my suggestions were and understood the purpose of the assessment."
