Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student had a test coming up so we reviewed the topics that were going to be on the test. He understood most of his material, so we did a couple of practice problems and went over his exam review. I let him do the review and corrected him when needed."
"We spent most of our time working through chemistry. We had a bit of trouble working through electrolytic and galvanic batteries and redox reactions, but aside from that, the student feels very strong with her material going into tomorrows test."
"The student and I worked on an algebra worksheet, then spent some time studying for a science test. The student also has a math retake coming up. I went over the quiz with him and though his methodology for solving equations is spot on. We just have to work with the student to make sure he is doing problems slowly and carefully."
"The student and I reviewed the work that she had done over. We spent most of our time on the geometry. We also reviewed a few basic math terms that had confused her on the practice questions. We did not make it entirely through the review, but she showed an increased understanding of the questions that we focused on. We spent the last portion of the session discussing basic strategies for the reading comprehension section. We focused primarily on reading, so I asked her to focus only on reading and note-taking on her practice drills. We will discuss strategies for the questions at our next session on Thursday."
"We prepared and edited his literary analysis questions. Upon reviewing his response to each literary analysis question, we conducted more research to ensure his assignment met the grading criteria, and we identified what a good response to the literary analysis question vs a bad response to the literary analysis looked like. We restructured sentences, changed verbiage, and ensured he composed his assignment properly."
"The student and I continued to review grammar and translation from his workbooks. We focused on personal pronouns today. He still needs to be reviewing the material from his notes more often, and he needs to review the essential 55 verbs we talked about. We'll work on this in our next session."
