Reviewed for his exam on Wednesday, which will cover the statistics material we've been working on the past few weeks. When we finished that we moved on to calculus where he was working with related rates. He had some difficulty understanding when and how to use implicit differentiation so that should be a focus next time.

The student and I reviewed his quiz from this past week and went over his mistakes. We then covered concepts with adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and its role in cellular respiration. We went into detail on the process of glycolysis, and I explained the Krebs cycle and electron transport chain.

The student and I worked mostly on English during this session. We concentrated on punctuation and subject verb agreement and she seemed to understand when I explained answers but has some memorization of grammar rules to work on. We then went on to reading. We need to figure out which kind of passage she does the best in and then make sure that she does that one first, so that she always has times to read and answer the passages she is most comfortable with if we have to sacrifice one because of timing. For our next session, she is doing a whole practice exam.

Met student and mother for first session,
I evaluated him with pre-test of skills.
The student is able to fold paper, write his name, write 1,2,3 and reversed "b" as he wrote a,b,c,d. He can draw a circle and a square. I recommended he begin to use a large pre-K pencil grip which Mother had at her home.

The student and I worked on solving systems of equations using the substitution method. We talked about the procedure of first isolating a variable and then replacing it in the other equation. He did really well with this concept.
