Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I met and started our first session. This session was primarily used to identify his needs and get a feel for what method of tutoring works best for him. He is a very energetic kid but was very good about working with me on some basic alphabet work."
"The student and I met today to review some of the math and writing work that I left for her. She's having a bit of a hard time with the math sections, so we spent a good amount of time working through a practice section. The aim was to build up her confidence and show her that she is totally capable of working through a section on her own. She's all set to try one of those for our next tutoring session. Her writing is coming along well."
"Topics covered include radicals (simplifying radicals, multiplying and adding radicals, solving equations with radicals, and imaginary numbers). The student has a great fundamental understanding of algebra. We were able to help her understand the topics in detail."
"Tonight the student and I reviewed her math homework. We then reviewed her reading assignment. She was assigned to read a book and then complete a project on it. We read a science book on the moon and took notes as we read. Then she illustrated a book cover as her project."
"The student and I worked on making corrections on his math homework and guided practice that he was completed in class. We then reviewed the problems he has difficulty with by reviewing them once again on the white board. Finally, we practiced 2nd grade math skills such as money, and fractions. He has good some progress in his math skills as evident by receiving a higher grade than usual on his math work."
"We went over concepts concerning monetary policy and went through the topic's homework problems from the student's course in detail. The student had a good grasp of the underlying concepts, and we worked on translating the questions into mathematical terms and solving them. We plan to continue working on the chapters and homework that will be covered on her final exam on April 21st."
