Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed the broader concepts we discussed in previous sessions; he wrote a practice essay which we read together, evaluated, and saw how to improve it; we read and analyzed practice essays provided in the SAT prep book; we reviewed the 'improving' sections, particularly the 'improving paragraphs' section."
"Biology: Osmosis/Diffusion Paper (Osmosis) work on intro, materials and methods, and verbally discussed discussion Math: go over logarithm quiz (domain and range), and applied exponential curves, looked at new section (go over a more difficult exponential/log curve-- "mortgage problem")."
"I helped the student work through algebraic problems involving radicals. He worked on radical-multiplication, division, addition and subtraction. We concluded the session with some word problems, and the student felt confident with various problems involving radicals."
"I met with the student on Saturday for approximately 1.5 hours. She is still struggling a little bit with her time-management. We went over some of her logical reasoning questions and a little bit on the games to help her diagram them better. We are going to meet one last time and try to do some complete sections together. I also told her to try and do an entire test all the way through so she can get a good idea for the mental challenge for having to concentrate for over 2 hours."
"Did some review of the 8s and 9s specifically, and did review of 2s through 9s. Also did some complex word problems (with more than one step and combinations of multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction). The student likes to move really quickly, so she loves doing timed multiplication sets."
"Today went well. We covered some components of a project. We had a lot of information to look at first, but we seemed to get the pace of things at the end. I look forward to tutoring the student in the future."
