Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on a review packet for the student's test tomorrow. We worked on slope-intercept, point-slope form and standard form and how to go between these. We also talked about how to find parallel and perpendicular lines. She was slow remembering at first but picked it up as we went along. Hopefully, she remembers enough for her test tomorrow."
"We did a semester exam review. The student's work is looking cleaner. He still needs to focus on keeping track of his negative signs for the algebraic portions of the work. He understands the big concepts and continues to improve his math vocabulary."
"The session went well. We talked about how to add, subtract, divide, and multiply numbers with different signs. Order of operations was the big topic we went over. We also went through a lot of practice problems and areas that were confusing. Overall, the lesson was very productive, and we covered a lot of material."
"We went over more word problems today, specifically with coins and tickets. We also went over angles, percentages, and distance. The student is doing a very great job, and I am so proud of her. She told me that the teacher had put up a tricky question today in class, and she was the only one who knew what to do. So, I know I am making an impact on her. She is always positive, and we laugh and make this fun."
"We continued working on the equation of the line and reviewed slope-intercept form and point-slope form. We worked through problems of writing the equation of the line given various pieces of information (points, slope etc.)."
"The student started learning 2 step Algebra equations today. She is increasingly more and more enthusiastic about doing her work and being able to solve Algebraic problems on her own."
