Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on preparing him for his test over all of differentiation to this point, including related rates and curve fitting. He primarily needed help with categorization as he was able to answer most questions correctly."
"Today we discussed the methods in solving for vertical and horizontal asymptotes, methods for calculating limits, and implicit derivatives."
"In our session we went over her latest homework which involved integration and integration approximation techniques. We finished our session by discussing the concepts and topics related to her final paper. We worked out three potential topics related to productivity: optimization, the point of diminishing returns, and absolute extrema. I left her with a calculus I study guide."
"We went over the incorrect multiple choice questions from a practice AP exam. We spent most of the time on induction and capacitors. We will look at more examples of these types of problems next time."
"We finished chapter 7 on the Bohr model of the atom. The student understood all of this and could complete the practice problems. Then we proceeded to the periodic table in chapter 8. We finished about half of this. He did very well and understood all the concepts in the chapter that we reviewed."
"We went over some abstract derivative and integral problems, covering the concepts rather than the evaluation. We also went over volume of objects by perpendicular surfaces, and I explained it in a way that finally made sense to the student. We then moved on to teaching her Taylor polynomials, and I gave her a crash course. We will continue to expand on that topic in our next sessions."
