Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered trig functions, with focus on inverse functions. We spent a good chunk of time of graphing and understanding where asymptotes should be drawn. It was a good session."
"Today we reviewed trig identities and the student solved homework problems with complex identities. We ended the session with reviewing the unit circle and practicing drawing it."
"Today, the student and I worked on her math homework. We reviewed dot product, vectors, projection of vectors, etc. She sometimes struggles to learn from her teacher, so we reviewed all the concepts before we began. She picked it up quickly and we will continue working on math in 2 weeks. I will be meeting with her next, on Sunday, for national assessment tutoring."
"Today we went over the "cereal box" project. This project involved calculating surface areas, volumes and setting up a V/SA ratio. We also reviewed calculating arc length and areas of parts of a circle given a radius and angle."
"We went over functions and their general properties, quadratic equations and how to graph them, how to determine the axis of symmetry of quadratic equations, their domain and range, and how to determine their shape. The student had the most problems determining how to figure out the maximum and minimum values of quadratic functions, but he seemed to understand them after the session finished. He seemed to be getting the material, he just needed some assistance understanding some of the specifics."
"Worked with Student A on some math. He seems to be really picking up the concepts now! Student B on the other hand, is rushing. We're still working on slowing down, paying close attention to all the details besides the way it looks. I'll start taking practice breaks, as suggested."
