Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The following concepts were reviewed: - Polar and Non-polar intermolecular interactions (Hydrogen Bonding, Ion-Dipole, London forces) - Intramolecular interactions - Theory and calculations of the Enthalpy of Solution for solid dissolving in liquid, liquid dissolving in liquid (solute added to solvent), and gas dissolved in gas. - Solubility - Temperature influence on Solid, Gas, and Liquid solubility."
"Today's session with the student went really well. It was our first meeting and we worked on studying for his chemistry class. We focused exclusively on stoichiometry and problems using it. The student had a great attitude and was fun to work with. During our session I included a lot of information about why this was important and also how to think about the problems so that he would be better prepared to handle any new problems he faced. My mantra for him was "Everything is the same." By the time we were done, he understood why I was saying that. He had extra problems to work on, and I advised him that he should finish them in the next day or two so that he would remember it better, and he could also text/email me if needed. It was a pleasure working with the student, and I feel he greatly benefited from our time together."
"We continued covering the equilibrium constant K. We went over concepts from last week and learned about Kp, Kp and Kc conversions, and ICE tables. Student struggles slightly with setting up equations with respect to reactants and products, but her attitude was great!"
