Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed genetics in preparation for the student's test, using an online review test assignment and practice test questions on this platform. She seems to be retaining the information well. Perhaps the hardest part for her is DNA structure, so we will continue to review that."
"Today was our second lesson together. We started the session by reviewing specific questions from the student's last test which covered photosynthesis and cellular respiration. She took notice of the questions she found difficult on her exam, and made sure to ask for clarification during our session. We also reviewed a missed question from a previous homework assignment we worked on, on which she scored an 18/20. After going over review questions, we started working on the next unit, cell division and reproduction. Although she doesn't start this unit until next week, we began going over basic definitions and concepts in this chapter. She was motivated and stayed positive throughout the session. I left her with a few question/answers and diagrams to review before our next session."
"In our last session, the student and I began studying the classification system used by scientists to classify living organisms. Primarily, we discussed the 3 domains, what makes each one different from the other, and noted that the vast majority of diversity and quantity of living organisms we encounter in most spheres of life belongs to one domain. To that effect, we studied the domain Eukarya in more detail and learned the further subdivisions within that domain."
