"The student and I started working on his mid-term prep. We covered topics varying from z-score usage to binomial distributions."
"The student and I worked together on proofreading his paper. We checked the outline of the paper, making sure all of the components of the prompt were answered."
"Today we studied for probability test. The student did practice problems for various types of permutations and combinations, and we briefly reviewed 2x2 probability tables."
"We continued to work with quadratic equations this session. We reviewed the completing the square method for finding roots and the vertex of quad. functions. The student completed 2 online quizzes during the session as well."
"We focused on reviewing chapter 8, which is the chapter he struggled with. For the most part, it seemed that he had a decent grasp on the individual concepts after taking the test, but putting them together was a struggle. We talked a lot about the derivation of certain formulas, and just practicing factoring so that it was a more reflex-like practice for him."
"Our lesson today covered the percent chapter. It involved topics such as percent comparison, percent increase, and percent decrease. This was a new material for the student. He did a great job of understanding it. He was excited to learn the material in a different fashion. I included my own strategies to estimate the correct answer. In addition, we worked on doing questions faster with shortcuts. He was left with exercise problems that will review the day's material. Also, he was given new material to prepare for our next class. Overall, the class went very smoothly and we made great progress overall."
