Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today with the student we worked on both her Weather and Climate class and her English class. Her first exam for Weather and Climate went very well, and she got a 94%- 10 points higher than the class average. She has a meeting with her English teacher tomorrow where she will go over the material/research/structure of her first major paper with him. The meeting is only 15 minutes long, but she often is very nervous about meeting with teachers so we spent some time going over all of the different things to discuss. She wrote down several different questions to ask him about the paper, and we went through all of its main points and sources of research."
"We covered stereo isometry and Sn2 reactions. The student had questions with determining absolute configuration, but I believe that we've developed a more efficient strategy that is easier to understand and use."
"Today's session focused on nomenclature for chemical compounds. We covered metal-non-metal binary compounds; metal-polyatomic anion compounds, non-metal-non-metal binary compounds, and acids. We reviewed some of the student's worksheets. I suggested a couple of websites that the student could visit for additional practice in naming compounds and predicting reaction products."
