In general, I try to relate new material that I am tutoring back to concepts that a student has already grasped so that unfamiliar material takes on a familiar character. Furthermore, I try to have a student do some writing, some reading, and some discussion in each lesson, and in this way engage the main three modes of learning. That being said, I try to modify my teaching style to best benefit the type of student I am tutoring."
