Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed for her chapter 1 test, which included basic trigonometric ratios and converting radians/degrees. She did very well on the practice exam I gave her."
"We continued working on the transformation of cos and sin graphs. The horizontal shift was the most difficult part to calculate and graph and I recommend more practice with that. Otherwise, student is getting better at graphing these trig functions."
"The student has a test this upcoming Thursday, so we spent extra time going over everything she has done. She told me that having her explain the problems with words has helped a lot, so we came up with abbreviations for different types of problems. She will begin her test by writing down "instructions" next to each problem. She understands how to tackle each type of problem, and we reviewed some of her common mistakes throughout the session. We continued the work from last week, and she showed a clear comprehension of each problem. We also discussed radicals, a topic that she does well on. I feel confident that she has the tools to excel on this next exam."
"The student is working on the hardest part of trigonometry - proving trig identities and equalities using identities. We went through it and discussed strategy."
"The student and I reviewed several homework problems that he was having difficulty with. He also completed a mock quiz that I prepared in anticipation of his upcoming quiz."
"We are now working with polynomial expressions for the student's new section. We also started using the binomial expansion theorem, and then we went over the equation of a circle, the distance formula, and the concept of completing the square."
"We did the review of chapter 6 (Fingerprinting) in Forensics for his quiz on Friday and I gave him a review quiz for his Trig quiz tomorrow. The student seems to be very comfortable with Trig and is getting a much better understanding on Forensics, and I am happy with his progress."
"I made her a chart with all the algebraic and trigonometric transformations. We spent some time doing examples for both. We also went through her unit 2 exam."
"The student had trouble with very basic concepts and proofs so I went through them with him. He showed me some homework assignments/quizzes/tests that he didn't do well on, and we went through them for better understanding. He was responsive when I asked him if he understood my explanations."
"Went over selected problems from the student's review for his upcoming test, specifically with resultant vectors, systems of equations, and imaginary numbers. He was able to remember the process, from previous reviews, as we went along."
"Use of trigonometric identities to graph secant and cosecant functions with offsets. Did several worked examples to illustrate methods of determining asymptotes and y values."
"Today we worked on trigonometry. We finished and checked two trig homework assignments and studied for his upcoming test."
