Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I discussed how his tests are formatted so that I could get a better idea of how to prepare him. Then we went over direct object pronouns and other worksheets from Chapter 6A, which he had just finished. I gave him ideas on how to study for his next 100 point test, which will be next week. We decided to meet on a weekly basis with hour-long sessions."
"Spanish: reviewed 'go' verbs. Refreshed ir and ir + a + infinitive (going to) concepts. Gave h/w on formulating flashcards. We completed homework and reviewed vocabulary for throwing a party."
"During his session, the student and I changed our focus from irregular verbs to vocabulary and adjective agreement. We went over his vocabulary list and practiced describing the color of objects. I especially emphasized making adjectives agree in gender and number with the nouns they modify. He is now adept at describing the color of objects, although he still needs to work on memorizing the names of each color. We also practiced describing people's height and the length and color of their hair. As with the colors, I emphasized agreement between adjectives and nouns. We reviewed vocabulary dealing with household chores, and he completed an exercise that tested his knowledge of these words, as well as his ability to conjugate regular verbs correctly for a given subject. Finally, he practiced translating expressions such as "more/less than," "better/worse than," and "best/worst," and adjectives that precede nouns."
"The student and I finished many of his voice activities that he has to record and submit at school. He was able to conjugate most of the verbs without any help and was also able to write sentences clearly and with proper grammar."
"Studied for chapter 5 test. Reviewed comparatives and superlatives. Reviewed future tense. Practiced vocabulary words. Completed exercises in book reviewing all concepts in chapter 5."

"Today the student and I reviewed the present subjunctive tense and I helped her look over her PowerPoint presentation she will give in class Thursday. We will meet next Monday so she has a chance to work on her essay by herself first and I can support her by reviewing her first draft that will compare and contrast two Spanish films."
"Today was a very good lesson! The student was very active during the whole session. We worked on conversation, some grammar points and reading comprehension. Her pronunciation continues to improve as well as her overall understanding of the language."
