Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has transitioned to finding limits. We discussed the definition of the limit and proceeded to find limits in various situations."
"Reviewed for Final Exam: Covered Chapter 4: Polynomial and Rational Functions; Did Precalculus Test #1; Covered Chapter 5: Exponential and Logarithmic Functions; Did Test #2 (Sect. 5.1 - 5.6)."
"Today, we talked about secant and tangent lines. We used the limit formula to derive the equation for the tangent line, and talked about the shortcut for finding the derivative."
"The student had a worksheet covering all of the differentiation rules he's learned so far. We went over the problems he was having trouble with, it was mostly trouble remembering the exact formula for the product/quotient/chain rule."
"The student and I worked on factoring expressions with fractional exponents. We touched on his new material as well, simplifying fractions with polynomial denominators. He can easily follow the steps for a problem once he gets going. More practice will increase his confidence and ability to look at a problem and see how to attack it. He should finish the worksheet we started, and try to work through at least a handful of problems with the new material before our next session on Tuesday."
"The student got an A on his last biology test. In math, we reviewed transformations and finding new domain and range. He was very good at finding these values algebraically. In biology, we reviewed the four major macromolecules again in greater detail, which he seemed very comfortable with."
