Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We finished working through math problems that the student missed on the diagnostic test. This has helped me to identify areas to focus on at next week's session. The student feels that applying the strategies will help her to do better on the next practice test. The student should be studying SAT vocabulary, getting essay examples, and working on the ACT test prep book."
"We continued mental math topics, moving through simple addition and squaring of two-digit numbers. Things went pretty well, and the student realizes the only way to master the skills is to really practice them."
"Today the student and I worked on some of the recent topics she has been covering. We discussed projectile motion and oscillatory motion. We completed a couple of questions on oscillatory motion then we started reviewing for the upcoming test. We discussed banked curve questions and then started talking about torque."
"The student and I went over exponential growth and geometric and Fibonacci sequences. We mainly went over homework concerning future forecasted growth, and we spent part of the session making corrections to a homework that was handed back to her for a second chance. "
"We went over the practice English section she had as homework. She improved 3 points to a 27. I'd like to see her do better though so we touched up her strategy a bit to ensure that. She did a practice section, and was well within the time limit and felt a lot more comfortable too."
"We continued to review for the student's Latin exam. We reviewed all 4 conjugations as well as the irregular verbs sum, possum, volo, nolo, and fero. He had a little trouble forming the future tense of 3rd and 4th conjugation verbs, but with practice, he was able to understand the vowel changes in these. We also reviewed infinitives in formation and use in sentences. Next session, I will go over agreement of nouns and adjectives and have him decline the pairs in all cases. I will also make up some practice questions for him to try next session."
