Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we worked on problems involving objects moving at constant acceleration. We went over fundamental concepts and definitions and applied them to specific practice questions. The student is already making great progress with this topic. Keep up the good work!"
"We began with a warm up on antonyms and adjectives. We then spent the rest of the session working on a school project over a book. We then brainstormed a list together. We numbered the list and used this as our pre writing. I am also including 30 minutes of tutoring time in this log from a previous phone tutoring session, in which I helped the student edit a memoir he had written for school."
"We started off by reviewing fractions, decimals, and percentages from last session. We also went over percent word problems and practiced quite a few problems using that skill along with other basic math concepts. At the end, we reviewed the vocab he had studied and looked at some Greek and Latin roots. I gave him example words for 10 Greek and Latin roots to help him remember them."
"Today the student and I covered the math section of the test. We went through how to break down question stems. We continued to go over the English section and will move on to the reading comprehension next."
"Today we continued in the advanced sections of multiplication and will wrap up this chapter with a quiz on Friday. We continued to read in the chapter book and started our reading comprehension lesson for the week."
"The student did a superb job. He was ready and raring to go, and he jumped right into the ongoing translation of the Arca Pandorae. I spent the bulk of today's session with him doing a quick and dirty review of the endings of first- and second-declension nouns. I also reminded him where one finds the true stem of any given Latin noun, namely the genitive singular (which is why any good dictionary entry always includes the genitive singular). Great job!"
