Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I studied for one of her exams in Managerial Accounting. She understands the subject but I think the class moves too quickly for her to really be able to pick up on the material. When we broke each problem down and worked through it, she really seemed to gain a stronger understanding of the topic at hand."
"I reviewed her homework questions for geology and also looked over what she is covering in history. She says she has history tests about every 2 weeks, so we discussed study methods and started making flashcards on Civil Rights Movement topics from her textbook."
"Today we worked on gerunds, participle phases, and infinitives using the computer program. We also reviewed verb forms and subject complements, as well as objects of the preposition."
"The student and I met for our last time before he takes his ACT on Saturday. His final practice essay was the best I've read yet, and he scored a 33 on his last practice test. After maintaining such a rigorous schedule of taking all 5 practice tests in the past few weeks, I think the student should have full confidence in his ability to do well on Saturday."
"The student and I went over a sample analogy section. She really enjoys this section because there is more creativity in the section. We then spent the next hour doing reading passages and she is improving quite a bit on this section as well as comprehending more of the text. We then spent the last 20 minutes going over the vocabulary section of the assessment."
"The student and I worked on her first problem set together. The topics included opportunity cost, willingness to pay, equilibrium, supply and demand. The student is taking economics for the summer, and we plan to meet twice per week. She is able to understand each problem with examples and talking it out loud. She will finish her problem set and send me her analysis paragraph via email to review before she submits the homework."
