Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we primarily reviewed intermediate algebra. We worked on the laws of exponents, simplifying algebraic expressions, and logarithms. We also briefly reviewed circles, including area, circumference, arc length, and sector area."
"The student managed a consistent score of a 24 on the science section and we went over the problems that he missed. For him, it was lack of familiarity with time that made him rush the last few problems. He appeared to spend more time on passages in the beginning than passages in the end. He seemed to understand why he missed those problems, and there's no doubt that he will improve with more practice. We then finished up the math section, and he mastered more geometric and trigonometric concepts."
"For an hour, I worked with the student on ACT math to prep for a 7th grade test she's taking in February. We worked mostly on an ACT practice exam, and spent most of the time learning new ways of simplifying equations. The student struggled most with factoring quadratic equations b/c it was a new topic, so I taught her the proper method to do that. I suggested she also take the ACT exam in her school, so I will be emailing her a practice set of ACT probs to finish by Friday evening."
