Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We spent this session reviewing for her trimester exam She had all of her notes and quizzes, so we spent our session reworking problems and reviewing important concepts. We focused on Trigonometric Identities, Arc Lengths, Area of Sectors, Graphs of Trigonometric Functions, and Sum/Difference/Double Angle Formulas. The student improved greatly on her graphing during our session. She is going to continue to study in preparation for her exam tomorrow."
"The student was having some problems understanding the relationships between sin, cos, tan, cot, sec, and csc. We discussed how sine and cosine are the fundamental trigonometric functions and practiced using identities (Pythagorean, definition of tangent). We also talked about where sin, cos, and tan have positive values."
"We reviewed topics that the student said would be on her test. This included finding trig values when given other trig values and word problems involving trigonometric values. We also did problems on angular speed and linear speed."
"For this session, we did a little review on rational functions and equations, and then we moved on to conic sections. I went over the general equations of circles, ellipses, hyperbolas and parabolas, showing the student how to find foci, vertices and the centers of each conic section."
"Today, the student and I worked on algebraic expressions and geometry. We worked on isolating the variable in the expression. We worked on using the correct operation to remove the rational number. We also worked on finding the correct formula to solve a geometry problem."
"The student informed me that she got an A on her last math test which is very good to hear and finishing the year strong. We continued to work on her final review packets and go through the review problems along with some problems in the book. Overall, I feel like she knows the basics of each topic. As she continues to go through the review problems and re-familiarizes herself with the problems, any little hesitations should go away. We meet one more time before her final to ties up any loose ends and concerns she might be having."
