"The student and I went over a practice multiple choice exam to help her prepare for Saturday. I used it as a chance to discuss concepts and strategies."
"This session focused on the completion of the student's final draft re: response to questions in her Rise of Islam course. She has sent to me several of her assigned text pages and a few rough drafts to read by email. I was able to propose modifications and a better way to focus her first essay on the critical issues being discussed in the readings. I plan to catch up in the English course by reading the assigned pages in Canterbury Tales to discuss at our next session on Friday. The objective in that part of the session is to provide her with a level of detail with which to accurately discuss the devices used by the author to convey commentary on life. The rest of the session will address the information contained in the PowerPoint presentation/ notes she will email me re: her philosophy course. She has an upcoming exam to study for and I will assist her by designing a mock test. I really enjoy working with this student - she is bright, conscientious and committed to her studies!"
"Today the student and I worked through paragraphs she had for her history class, and this time we tried instead of drawing out the bubble sheet just saying what the main idea was and the supporting evidence. After some time, we started her math packet which had to do with fractions. I noticed she had a bit of trouble when multiplying but those seemed more so like simple mistakes as opposed to misunderstanding of how to do the material so I would gently correct her and guide her in the correct way. I still say this was overall a good and fairly productive session!"
