Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Worked homework problems on previous lessons studied, including slope and parallel lines, perpendicular lines, triangles, and coordinates proofs. The student seemed to have a fairly strong grasp on these lessons, but has more homework to complete on area of circles and sectors, and geometric probability."
"The student and I met from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday March 16th. We reviewed for her test on Monday (3/17). We went over problems that I brought, those in her textbook and her teacher's review sheets. Specifically, we covered side lengths of assorted 2D shapes, some with similar shape analogs. She knows this material very well and I believe that she will do very well on her test tomorrow. Overall the session went very well!"
"We focused exclusively on proofs that had to do with angles in circles, in preparation for a test the student had coming up. Namely, we looked at the 3 cases inscribed angles, chord-chord angles, and tangent-tangent angles with a vertex outside of the circle."
"The student did not have anything new to cover in Biology so we worked on her geometry homework. She is now working on 30-60-90 degree angles and 45-45-90 degree angles. Her worksheet covered those and once she was given the formula to get these sides, she did well on her problems."
"The student and I continued our study of circles and angles, specifically pages 7 -10 on a an online textbook. After finishing the course work, we completed the following test. He understood most of the material pretty well though he still made mistakes with some of the questions. Still, after extensive practice he began to fix his mistakes."
"We looked at circle properties and how to use them to solve problems. Specifically, we went over tangent, chord, arc, and angle properties. Then we worked problems using these properties. We also went over some area formulas and how to use them together. We worked word problems using the area formulas. The student was ready to learn and interested in what we went over. I suggested making flashcards for the properties as a study skill."
