Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, the student and I worked on CPCTC of triangles and other polygons. I explained to her that this concept is used to learn congruency of two different polygons before new theorems like SSS, SAS, etc. Today's homework was make up work she needed to finish. By explaining each step to her, she was able to comprehend the work well and even link this concept to previous math concepts before. Luckily, we had more than enough time to finish all the make up work."
"The student and I went over the basics of complex algebra and the difference between rational and irrational numbers. I also described to him a general way of finding a fraction representation of a rational number with an infinite decimal representation."
"Today, we reviewed sine, cosine, and tangent. The student had an introduction to the material in school with some follow up homework problems. We went over the basics, and he was ready to do the homework. All in all, it was a good lesson, and I don't have any concerns regarding said material."
"We covered theorems related to segments (apothems, chords, secants, tangents) and circles. We worked on some worksheet problems the student had, and then I gave her some practice problems from another website. She has the link to do more problems on her own. Her attitude was great. I thought the session went very well."
"Worked with the student on reviewing for his test on lengths and angles in circles. He needed much extra practice but has improved from the week before. Also went over molarity questions within Chemistry. He is doing well with those."
"We covered thermochemistry. We discussed how to determine how much energy is released or required when a substance is heated or cooled while going through one or two phase changes. We discussed finding the enthalpy change for a reaction, given the enthalpy changes of several other reactions. This involves multiplying and/or reversing some of these reactions."
