Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, I helped the student with her homework covering section 4.4 in the textbook, this time focusing on indeterminate differences and powers. I can see improvement through repetition of similar types of problems. We will start the next session by reviewing for the comprehensive final, during which, we can revisit and refine these techniques."
"We covered Chapter 7 over Linear Systems and Matrices; Section 7.3 over Multivariable Linear Systems; and did pre-calculus pre-AP Chapter 7 Review problems."
"A finals review was conducted covering composite and inverse functions, roots of quadratic functions, and axes of symmetry. Several practice problems and homework were assigned."
"Today, the student and reviewed her summer packet that she was given to prep for Calc BC. She needed a refresher on the concepts towards the end of the packet, so we spent our time going through those. We managed to get through all of the concepts, and she left the session feeling confident. We didn't do every problem, as I wanted her to have some practice trying each concept on her own, without me walking her through each of them. We tentatively will be meeting again this Sunday if she runs into trouble with the rest of the packet. After she starts school, we will meet again to check-in before her review test."
"We went over the notes from the student's first week of PreCalc class so that she understood all the material. She started and finished worksheet/ homework and she now understands the necessary concepts!"
"We were working on functions today. First, we evaluate piecewise function, then we wrote an equation of piecewise function from the given graph. Also we solved word problems using piecewise functions. Second, we discussed transformations of absolute value of the function or absolute value of argument and corresponding type transformations. Third, we learned about odd and even functions and their graphs. Also we determined algebraically if a given function was odd or even."
