Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed the student's study guide for part 1 of her test this Thursday. She needed help on some of the concepts from her last quiz, but was very comfortable with the graphing and much of the recurring content."
"We went over the trig topics that the student has covered in class so far, including law of sines, law of cosines, and finding the area of a triangle. He knows how to use the equations. We also returned to sequences, a concept on the assessment exam that he will not be covering in class."
"It had been 2 weeks since last session and we started with reviewing content covered during that time. This included review of distance and midpoint formulas. Then we prepared for a quiz on circles. We worked through problems provided by the teacher to practice and prepare for quiz. The student had a really good understanding of completing the square."
"During this lesson we worked on the student's makeup homework 13.4. This section is for calculating annuities and payments using interest rates. By the end of the lesson he grasped the difference in equations and was using them correctly."
"The student finished his research paper draft tonight! I had sent him comments on a previous draft earlier today and he incorporated the comments into the revised draft for tonight. We worked on polishing the results section and finalizing all tables. Then he finished writing the discussion, limitations, and conclusion sections together."
"Tonight, we worked on physics and algebra. In physics, we went over a new assignment the student has started on elastic and inelastic collisions. At first, he was unsure about how to do equations, but after working through some together, he began to get the hang of it. In algebra, we covered using the quadratic formula to solve quadratic equations. He knew how to do those really well, so it was a breeze for him to get through them."
