Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Students C and S both read from their selected novels. We took turns reading out loud and worked on comprehension and vocabulary development as we read. Student S and I worked on the vocabulary skill of sensory words. Student N and I practiced reading from a beginner story book. He sounded out new words and I read for him some of the tougher ones. We worked on lower case letters and he's shown much improvement in the last several weeks with his memory of these."
"Continuing on with Reading Comprehension, the student worked on several reading passages and was asked to complete the corresponding questions. Part of the questions are short-responses which the student is showing progress in."
"We reviewed the student's past FSA tests. She is a strong reader but has problems focusing on what the passage is actually saying. She is eager to learn and to understand how she made a mistake. To save time on the test, we talked about how she should answer the question in her head and then look for the answer for multiple choice questions. She was also encouraged to utilize the passage more so her grammar could be more correct in her long response answers. I will try to bring more practice tomorrow. We have a list of objectives we would like to check off before she takes her test on Monday."
