Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We finished the practice test on all of Algebra 1 topics and we made a summary sheet of how to approach factoring for quadratics. We also spent some extra time on word problems."
"I worked with the student on the rest of his review packet for the upcoming assessment test. As we reviewed, I gave him tips to solve those problems on the test."
"We covered polynomials - using FOIL, taking square roots, recognizing patterns, and solving word problems."
"I covered with the student his assignment on statistics. We covered how to calculate mean, variance, standard deviation, z score and normal distribution. He showed good understanding."
"We worked on the student's study guide for her test. We finished that up working on the differences between point-slope form, slope-intercept form and standard form. We also looked at her extra credit and talked about how to make it look like what the teacher wants. She still has work to do on that, but she should be set to complete it on her own."
"In our first session we covered some of new material that the student has been working on. This includes factoring and graphing polynomials, writing exponential equations, and completing the square. We worked on factoring for the majority part of the session. We factored using the box method (the one he was taught in class) and I showed him another method that I like to use as well. He worked diligently throughout the session and I gave him my e-mail to send me any notes he gets in class."
