Rachel Hi! I'm Rachel. I have a pretty relaxed teaching style and adapt well to all kinds of students. I really aim for students to understand concepts rather than make great test scores. However, great test scores are a good side effect of understanding concepts better.

Karl ...concepts so they could succeed on their own. I believe that the purpose of a tutor is not to do the work of student, but to help the student develop skills to properly understand what is happening and how to do the work. When I am not tutoring or talking about math or other sciences, I am playing video games, exercising, reading, or writing scifi/fantasy. I am a nerd, and a proud one, and I...

Kimberly I am a fun-loving person. I enjoy teaching students. As a teacher, I treasure the moment when I see a student smile, because they grasped a skill or a concept. I am currently an elementary teacher. Most importantly, I want all my students to succeed in all their educational goals. Therefore, it is my desire to always be an effective teacher by addressing all of my students' educational needs.... Learning is universal. I believe that effective teaching allows one to connect to many by accepting and acknowledging different learning styles. As a teacher, my goal is to foster the will to learn. So, I believe in teaching that makes everyone excited and desire the will to learn something new, and to share it with others. Most importantly, I believe as a teacher, one must teach others to learn, as well as learn from the ones that you teach.

As an educator I will strive to create a safe and fun learning environment while still meeting the requirements of the state of Tennessee. Steven I have a BBA and an MSBA in Management Information Systems from the University of Memphis, and I am a former Instructor at Southwest TN Community College. I started working at Southwest as a Math Tutor, and I've tutored elementary and high school students. I have also assisted several colleagues with standardized placement and proficiency tests and with their undergraduate and graduate courses.... I first try to figure out where each student is academically. They may not know themselves, but I make the best determination that I can with my understanding of the subject area. Next, I begin working with them to bring them up to speed with where they need to be. I explain, demonstrate, and let them practice in their coursework. I try to keep them aware of their own progress, and work with them to bring them to the point where they can master material at a sufficient pace on their own.
