Planner, My Life Savior by Lebon - September 2016 Scholarship Essay
From all the advanced placement courses that I am taking to mastering certified nursing assistant skills, from going to Green Teens club to volunteering in beautifying our school grounds and most importantly, from all the college applications and scholarship essays that I am going to be writing, senior year is probably the most stressful, terrifying yet very life-changing year for every high school student like me. But I am not really worried; I am not worried because I found my support, I know that I can start what I am supposed to start, finish what I am supposed to finish at its finest and be successful by having an organized planner.
To all the essays that I turned in and to all the quizzes and tests that I have taken last year specifically in my AP United States History class, “I could have done better.” If I just remembered we had these assignments assigned, I would have taken my time in studying and writing my essays very carefully. To all the volunteering and school opportunities that had passed, “If I just had time”. If I carefully planned how my week or even month is going to be, I could have done and went to all the opportunities offered in my junior year.
Looking back at my junior year, there are so many things that I regretted on doing and not doing. This year, I am going to make sure that all of those mistakes will never happen again. Having a planner where I could write down all my “to do’s” and “don’t forgets” is very necessary for me. Through this, I would know what to do, what to start and what to finish at its best without cramming. Cramming was most definitely my best friend last year and I am trying to stay away from it. I am not going to turn in my college application essays knowing that I could have done better. These essays are very critical on what I am going to be like and how I am going to grow as a person and I am not going to mess that up just because “I didn’t have enough time.” My planner will help me make and take my time on writing well-written essays and that will open me up to bigger opportunities and chances. Furthermore, it will also give me better chances on winning and getting scholarships which is what I need the most to cover the costs of my studies in pursuing a healthcare profession.
Yes, I would say that I underestimated the powers of a planner. I have never used a planner before and I really saw the effects of it. Having a planner is my tool on becoming successful this school year. It is a crucial step that I am taking to help myself produce best results in terms of essays, homework, projects and assignments. Without my planner, I wouldn’t have any time to finish my Varsity Tutor scholarship essay. Without my planner, I would have missed this opportunity.
