Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on trigonometric identities. I think he has a good grasp of the algebra and the identities he needs. We will continue practicing these types of problems to build up his experience, which will lead to better intuition in taking the most straightforward steps to simplify the problems."
"The student and I worked through two assignments: one on solving trigonometric identities and the other on Sum and Difference of Cos/Sin/Tan. She able to complete both assignments even with her teacher being absent the previous class! She was able to start memorizing the formulas and will continue to work towards getting them down pat. She did great once she cleared up a couple questions."
"Today we covered co-terminal angles and basic trigonometry. I feel like he will do very well on the exam. It was a great session."
"We reviewed fractions, triangles, perimeter, area, volume. She did really well with the math and learned to move between the math concepts and the actual calculations using her calculator. We will continue to work on when to and when not use a calculator so she best improves her all around math skills."
"The student and I covered Geometry, specifically Chapter 8 Section 1 and Chapter 9 Section 1. She has an exam on Friday that I was helping her prepare for by going over the material, going over problems and teaching her to build good study habits. She was at first not confident in her math abilities, so I made sure to give her lots of encouragement throughout the session. By the end, she had a good grasp on the material we covered and could solve all types of problems on her own! I'm really proud of her, great first session."
"We worked mainly on trapezoid measurements, theorems and rules. We also reviewed sections that he had covered since our last session, including squares and rhombuses. It seems like he is having a little difficulty with these shape measurement as well as deducing the congruency of certain angles and sides relative to others. We need to make sure that his skills are sharper for the next test, which I believe is Thursday. I'm hoping to hone in on these skills in Wednesday's session."
