"We did a general review of all we've done for her test. She took a quiz last Thursday and got it back on Monday and it showed a huge improvement, she scored a 100%. She needed help with simplification so I gave her some general tips and I gave her some extra practice. She and I both agreed that with more practice she would be solid for her test."
"The student is a sharp guy and a pleasure to work with. We covered calculus concepts that included maxima and minima, the first and second derivative tests and optimization. We will have another session tomorrow and finish prepping him for his test on Monday."
"The student had packets of practice AP Exam questions and we did a number of multiple choice questions as well as a handful of free response questions. We both worked the problems and then I checked her work when she finished each one. She gained confidence in the calculus concepts."
"In this session, we covered derivatives of ln, logarithmic differentiation and then we went ahead and worked on implicit differentiation. The student was really getting the hang of it with practice and learns quickly from her mistakes."
"We continued to work on the optimization problems. We had to retrace some steps or retry the problem to see if everything within the problem, in terms of concepts and whatnot, was understood. However, this was fine because it was more important for the student to understand the concepts and the mechanics of the problem."
"The student and I continued preparation for his quiz. We covered u-substitution and other basic techniques of integration. We focused much of our time on how to identify a proper choice of 'u' for substitution. I feel the student is well prepared for his quiz."
