Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The session went well. He is a smart kid. We reviewed chemistry foundations as an assessment of his strengths and weaknesses."
"The student has a final coming up next week for his first year medical school biochemistry course. He was particularly concerned with how to study for DNA/RNA replication, transcription and translation. We reviewed outlines provided by his professor and discussed methods to remembering the depth of the content. I provided him with some external sources that he can use to study. He has a lot of other course work at the moment so being able to find the time and retain all of the information was a concern."
"What we covered was from student provided work sheet. Problem 1: Covered the idea of a guide retrosynthesis based on a previous synthesis. Identifying where the desired cuts should be made and what reaction could provide those disconnections Problem 1-1.4: Retrosynthesis of novel molecule without a guide. Once the retrosynthesis was complete a forward synthesis need to be constructed and provide all the intermediates. To reinforce chemistry we worked through each mechanism."
