"The student completed a packet comparing the magnitudes of normal forces, frictional forces, and air resistance. He then began a worksheet on drawing free body force diagrams."
"We went over a packet that she had for her physics class regarding the principles of momentum until she felt more comfortable with the topics and subject matter."
"The student and I focused on physics today since she has an exam on it tomorrow. The exam deals with impulse and momentum, including collision/ explosion problems and force-time graphs. We first went through all the concepts, and then clarified any questions she had. We worked through problems involving impulse and momentum that mainly dealt with equating impulse (Ft) to momentum (mv). I also explained to her the purpose behind force-time graphs and how we can extrapolate the impulse over a given time from it (using the area under the curve). Finally, I made up a few problems and we worked through them together. Overall, she understood all of the materials and the concepts behind them. Her only issue was making minor mistakes during the arithmetic portion of the problem. Since physics is a very pragmatic science (especially with this topic), I told her to always re-read the question after obtaining an answer to see if it makes sense with the answer she got. By re-reading it after answering it, she also sees the numbers given and can check if her numbers match up or not. Minor mistakes have thus far been her only issue, so we are working towards eliminating as many of those as possible."
