Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed for the test covering material such as midpoint, distance formula, ratio between two points on a graph, and Pythagorean theorem."
"The student and I got back into the swing of things after her spring break. She and I worked on surface area and volume of prisms and pyramids. She seems to be grasping the concepts well."
"For this session, I brought my own worksheets on exponential rules, scientific notation and logarithms. However, for the entire session, the student and I went over the rules for exponents only and used the accompanying practice problems. Specifically, we went over multiplying and dividing exponents, raising exponents to another power, raising exponents to the power of 0 and simplifying these expressions. He really started to grasp some of the concepts after practicing them."
"We reviewed the student's responses to her practice exam in quality assurance and statistical process control. The student demonstrated an increased understanding of the concepts and the methods for solving the problems."
"Because of her love of reading, I have put together a 'chant' list to help her memorize fact families. She will repeat them two times in lesson, two times at home, and every day. This will help her learn more about math in another perspective."
"We reviewed and worked together on the homework from section 2.2, which included determining whether logical statements are deductive or inductive, and then determining the logical conclusions of logic statements, or stating that not enough information was provided to make a logical conclusion. We practiced translating logical statements into variable form/symbolic form, to make it easier to understand what was going on. We discussed the difference between new variables and opposite or existing variables. The student was very focused and attentive, and was prepared for the session. We are making good progress!"
