Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered various geometry subtopics from the packet of problems I had given her, and I asked her to review both the geometry and algebra packets for next time."
"We split the session into two parts: 1 Hr. math and 1 Hr. critical reading. In this first session we worked through practice exams for each section. For math we covered a lot of the basics (algebra, point-slope formulas, order of operations, fractions). The student has no problem with solving the math questions. However, she struggles with timing, especially in math. The way to improve her speed is to do more practice problems and strengthen her foundation in the basics. In critical reading, we went through practice passages and vocab questions. She is better at passage based questions than she is at the vocab questions. She can improve on increasing the speed with which she answers the passage based questions and her vocab range. During this session as we went through the questions, I gave the student tips on strategies to cut down the amount of time she spends on each question. To help improve these areas in math and reading, I have assigned extra practice problems and a vocab list to review before next session."
"This was our first session so we went over the Math diagnostic test and assigned the Math reviews for our next meeting in about 1.5 weeks."
