Santa Ana SSAT Tutoring FAQ
The Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) is a standardized test that is used by numerous private schools as a part of their admissions process. Students from grades three through eleven are eligible to take the SSAT. There are three levels, including elementary, middle, and upper. The elementary level exam is given to students in grades three and four. The middle level exam is offered to students in grades five through seven. Finally, the upper level exam is given to students in grades eight and above.
The test is separated into of four sections, including verbal reasoning, reading comprehension, quantitative, and an essay. The verbal reasoning section includes vocabulary and analogies. The reading comprehension contains reading passages. The quantitative section focuses on measurement and probability, geometry and spatial sense, algebra and functions, operations, and properties. The essay section does not count as a part of your child's total score, but their score along with their essay will be sent to any school they apply to. Thus, it is still a good idea to study for this section.
Preparing for the SSAT can get overwhelming because it requires your child to understand a variety of different topics across a large amount of subject areas.
