Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we continued discussing applications of derivatives. Topics included: concavity, mean value theorem, first and second derivative tests, max and mins, and inflection points."
"We discussed critical points, values, inflection points, local max/min, global max/min, and what the 1st and 2nd derivative mean algebraically."
"We prepared for his upcoming exam. Topics covered included optimization, related rated, and applications of differentials."
"Today we really got a better understanding of word problems. I showed different strategies and he recorded them into his journal! The student was very focused and ready to dive into the lesson today. He is a visual and auditory learner who needs wait time in order to answer a question correctly!"
"The student did his assignment from last week first. Then we practiced solving equations or inequalities that involved absolute values. Quickly, we went through line equations and slopes which we touched at the first meeting, because the student has good understanding on this part. Five problems were assigned as homework."
"Today we kept working with factoring including how to use quadratics to solve word problems. The student did really well writing the equations and then solving them to get appropriate answers. We then started on the next section in her book which is radicals. We did a brief introduction on how to simplify them and will be continuing with radicals in our next session or two."
