We reviewed forces, work and energy, circular motion, and kinetic energy. She seemed to have a very firm grasp over most of the material, and we went over any gray areas we saw."
"The student's assignment for today was calculating distances to scale. She did very well working through the assignment without much help. Following that, she had a chapter review assignment. She seems fairly comfortable with the concepts in this chapter, but could use more practice adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing numbers quickly in her head to save time on tests. I left her with some integer worksheets to practice operations with positive and negative numbers."

"Worked on a review packet. I feel like we really took some positive steps today. This professor wrote a new statistics book and takes some very different approaches from the methods traditionally taught in the classroom. We mastered ANOVA, FTests, Fisher's LSD, Tukey's HSD, Pearson rcorrelation, and linear regression. It was extremely refreshing and we reached a very good comfort zone with the material."
"The student has another test coming up, so we worked on some of the lingering questions she had on her review worksheet. Some of them were related to "hidden" usubstitution problems. Once I pointed out how usubstitution could be applied, and how to look out for these type in the future, she understood quickly. Next, we moved to more review of inverse trig functions and triangle simplification. Finally, there was a question related to finding the Nth derivative of a function. Showed her that the procedure basically boils down to finding the first 2 or 3 derivatives, then IDing a pattern the derivatives follow, then find a way to express that pattern as a function of n. Did a little side digression/preview of how this process relates to the future sequences and series sections she'll be covering a few weeks from now in class. Overall a good review session and a good sneak peak at what's to come later in the class."
"The student and I worked on solving for the volume in various prisms on his homework. He seems to really understand this unit and tackled each problem with enthusiasm and accuracy. We spent the remainder of the session reviewing how to subtract areas to find the area of a shaded region. He struggled a little more with these concepts but managed to answer several tricky questions correctly by the end of our time."
