Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, the student and I went over graphing and equations of lines. We also covered some topics in Orders of Operations. She did struggle a little bit today with the topics, but I think grasped the overall concepts. We will also be meeting on Wednesday to cover some more topics. "
"The student and I reviewed Chapter 12 in his textbook, which covered DNA. We also worked out his homework questions. The student seemed to have a good understanding of the material, and he asked questions when he was not sure of something."
"The student and I reviewed AP practice problems covering a wide range of topics, including kinetic molecular theory, determining rate laws from empirical data and from rate-limiting step, acid/base titrations, and pKa and Ka. She would benefit from more practice setting up stoichiometry problems."
"Topics: Practice data interpretation problems, go over verbal section quickly Progress: This lesson was productive, and made the last lesson worthwhile. The student was able to comprehend the data interpretation content, and though he had occasional problems with the questions, I think that the overview and practice were extremely useful. Through previous classes, he has been exposed to almost all the topics in the quantitative section of the test, and in general, the overviews and practice are exactly at the level of difficulty where he is challenged but can grasp everything with practice. In the next lesson we will go over algebra word problems."
"Today the student and I went over a practice test in English that he completed after our session together yesterday. The student scored extremely well, with a score of 29. This is a HUGE improvement over his original score of 18 in this section. I think the student feels much more comfortable in the English section now. We did a practice reading section (where he got a perfect score on the 10 questions), two selections from the Science section, and a few problems from the math section. He did extremely well on all fronts, which is a great sign with his test coming up next weekend."
"Both students and I had terrific sessions today. Student A and I continued our review of the present subjunctive, active and passive voice, and he demonstrated a strong command of the material. Student B and I continued our review of the present tense of first-, second-, and fourth-conjugation verbs. He handled the material well. Thanks, guys! I look forward to our next sessions next Saturday. Have a great week!"
