Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over her test review packet which covered frequency distribution, relative frequency, and box and whisker plots."
"We went over the basic graphs and concepts of statistics. The student's lack of ability of interpreting equations algebraically requires more step-by-step instructions of solving problems."
"We went over generalized methods for calculating the number of ways to arrange a certain number of objects taken some number at a time. This leads into permutations and combinations, which the homework started to get into."
"She is getting into the late-game Calculus stuff. She knows most of the ideas and techniques but applying them in deep and often strange ways seems to be throwing her off. In the future We worked on these types of problems in this session, and I hope to work at least a few more problem of this type so she can not just know how to do it but also be confident."
"Next Friday he will be taking his Math test for the quarter. This is why we have studied on Exponential Growth And Decay problems. We started with homework questions assigned from the textbook. Before we started the homework questions we went over the class assignment to review what exponential growth and decay mean. Then he solved all homework questions alone correctly. After that we did more practice on mixed problems for the test. At the end I asked what does growth and decay mean, and how do you understand by looking at the function as a closure. He explained exponential growth and decay perfectly."
"Today we derived the definition of derivative, looking into a deeper understanding of its origin and purpose. We also reviewed problems from previous quizzes to prepare the student for his upcoming test. This included finding critical points of a function, finding tangent slopes, and solving implicit derivatives."
