"I covered the lesson 6 "Drawing Angles" homework with the student. I drew examples for each and went over the degrees for each. We reviewed the assignment on drawing angles, problem solving, and test practice. The student then took two 28-questions test on the school website, one involving estimate angle measurements and the second one on rounding the numbers. As for science, I went over the moon phases including waxing crescent, first/last quarter, waxing/waning gibbous and full moon for the upcoming test."
"We reviewed the student's last reading test, and she has improved, but we also went over some of her mistakes and how to further improve. Then we reviewed math, which was about adding mixed numbers. I explained it to her several times and then timed her as she did it alone. She got the idea, but should practice it more."
"During this session, the student and I worked on Math and Science. Her Math covered perimeters and areas. She did very will with perimeters and areas as well. When it came to questions that required application of the two topics, she needed a little extra push or reminder to what the difference between them was (nothing practice won't fix!). Overall, she's very clear with what the concepts are. Afterwards, we completed her Science packet which covered the food chain. We discussed and completed questions on herbivores, omnivores, carnivores, as well as producers and consumers. She understood these definitions very well and applied them in her homework. For the last 15 minutes of the session, we read together and came up with ideas for her reading log."
"We finished our outline/ draft of the student's book report on Sounder. I asked him to have the final draft ready to review next week. I also asked that he reviews The Boy in the Striped Pajamas so that we can have an easier time with the report and project."
"We discussed more percent word problem with labels and decimals. This was a multi step problem and this was the last problem I had given her for extra practice before school started. It was the hardest problem she has ever done and it covered new concepts I had taught her. Great job!"
"We worked on the student's math homework: converting fractions to decimals, prime factorization, and multiplication. I reviewed his math book to make sure that he keeps up with assignments."
