Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"For the first few lessons, I introduced the student to the structure and outline of the exam as a whole. I had him try the English and science components, both of which he seemed to very well in for a first try. During the actual sessions, we reviewed the problems that he did not get correctly from those sections. We also have been working on the math section during sessions. For homework, I am having the student work on the reading section for the first time. We will be focusing on math the most for the time being."
"The student and I resumed our lesson from last week by beginning by going over one of the fraction problems he missed on the quiz I assigned him. From there, we revisited the concept of negative exponents/reciprocals/perpendicular slopes. We moved onto new territory by covering scientific notation, decimals, and ratios. I recommend that he practice, daily, problems involving fractions, exponents, and geometric/trigonometric properties. Overall he continues to improve!"
"The student and I started by working through two sections of vocabulary (one lesson and one review). He did well with the review section so it looks like he's remembering the words from week to week, which is great! We then spent the rest of the session working on the essay. We read through a couple of example essays, We agreed that the essay and critical reading sections, namely paired passages, will be our focus from here on out. I assigned the student a critical reading section, to be completed before our next session."
