Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went over the laws of sine and cosine. She did a worksheet assigned by her teacher, and we corrected some of her test questions."
"This was our first meeting. We reviewed previous material and went over the missed questions on the most recent test. We covered rules of exponents, logs and natural log. We went over the new material for the next test this week: trig functions and their graphs. We discussed the effect changes in different variables have on the functions and graphs."
"We went over some problems using identities to prove one side of an equation using trigonometric functions equals the other."
"We went over homework, and I checked through past assignments to see where the student's confusion was coming from. We briefly discussed his next test, and I gave him a few problems to work through to prepare him for his test."
"We went over the student's reading and math homework. He understood the story overall and was able to correctly answer the comprehension questions. We also went over fractions. We used manipulatives, and he was making progress by the end. After some work, he was able to convert improper fractions into mixed numbers and add them together."
"The student made corrections on a test using the compound interest formula and the simple interest formula. There were also review questions on finding equivalent fractions, decimals and percents. In reviewing the formulas, he had some difficulty with the vocabulary. He also did not understand that part of the compound interest formula involved using an exponent. We will continue to work on that. Once he has the data, he can input in his calculator. We had to review order of operations. He does well converting decimals to percents and vice versa."
