Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over the test and chapters 1-4. We went over what we were going to do transitioning, took extra off the clock time to go over the online process. We went over notes and concepts of everything that could possibly be on the test. The first test will determine how to adjust to the teacher's desires."
"The student and I met at the library to review material from her elementary statistics course. In our first session, we covered definitions of standard deviation and variance as well as the formulas regarding the two terms, and we also discussed the homework assignment that is due this week for her. Her first exam is on Wednesday, and thus our next session is scheduled for Tuesday, also at the library."
"Normal curves, standard deviations, averages and Z-scores (from her homework, in preparation for next week's quiz). We also reviewed the ACT math test and worked through several problems in her practice test book. We talked about taking untimed ACT tests for the next couple weeks, beginning timed practice on sections later, and completing full-length timed ACT tests a couple of times in the weeks just prior to the test date."
"I looked over the student's homework, and he completed upcoming work from class. Also, we discussed upcoming quizzes/tests."
"The student has gotten much better at setting up story problems and seeing individual pieces of information as a variable. He initially had some issues figuring out which operations to use in order to solve for variables, but he came to recognize the pattern after a lot of repetition. We also reviewed number lines and inequalities."
"The student completed the book we were reading on crocodilians. He wrote a paragraph after picking a topic sentence. He found adaptations that have allowed crocodilians to survive for over 200 million years. We then practiced division problems and fact families 1- 5. Lastly, we played a multiplication facts game."
